After we lost the pregnancy in February we spent a lot of time together at home. Planning to return to work in early April we wanted to go away for a while and visit some friends as well. We took the car and first spent 4 days around Reims in France, the heart of the Champagne district, one of our favorite drinks. We stayed at the small Champagne house Guy Charbaut which also has a few rooms and has very reasonable rates. Have a look at our room. From there we visited the towns of Epernay and Reims and some of the Champage houses:
During these visits we were told how they produce the Champagne, which grapes they use and visited the cellars where they are stored while they are ripening. Have a look at the video we made during the visit at Laurent Perrier and see part of the process.
