We checked out of Treasure Island and into Bally’s. Arnold & Flo already stayed there and it made sense to be in the same hotel for New Years Eve as the strip would be closed for cars and we didn’t know how long it would take you to walk to TI. The floor we stayed on had just been renovated which made for this smell of new carpet’s. Unfortunately we couldn’t open any windows so all we could do was to turn the airco ventilator to maximum… All in all Bally’s isn’t as nice as TI, although the rooms were even bigger.

At 1 pm the 4 of us were picked up by a minivan which drove us to the airport for our helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon.  It took us over Las Vegas, Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam down into the Grand Canyon where we had a lunch on the banks of the Colorado River. It was a trip never to forget. Have a look at the video (chose Low, Medium or High quality) or the pictures to get an idea what it was like.

After Inge had her nap we took a taxi to Fremont Street. This is the old center of Las Vegas where all the old casino’s like the Golden Nugget are located. A couple of years ago they put up a $70 million light canopy over the street and made it into an experience. Read more about it here or watch the show we taped here.

We had dinner in the Magnolia’s Veranda restaurant in the 4 Queens Casino, and did some gambling there. This was the only place where we saw $2 blackjack tables in Vegas.
