Again all was quiet on the Hurghada
front where Inge and Michel spent their day shade bathing (it was way to hot
for the sun), reading and listening to some music.
We were going to go snorkelling to
the reef at bit further in the sea, but were once again scared off by the
huge school of jelly fish who blocked our way. So we stayed at the corral
closer to the beach.
As I wanted to do some quad riding
through the dessert I went to the shop in the hotel where they organised the
quad tours. I arranged to go that same evening for 2 hours of dessert fun.
There weren’t any other people but the guide and me. This was good, nobody
to slow me down… I bought a scarf (or whatever they call them) which made me
look like Arafat, but kept the sand out of my face and eyes.
The ride through the dessert was
fantastic! The route we took was one they can only take when there are a
maximum of 3 quads as there are so many hills they wouldn’t be able to keep
control if the group was bigger. It was a very spectacular ride with many
steep hills. We followed the coast for a while
and stopped twice for about 5 minutes. I was sorry I hadn’t brought my
camera, they would have been nice shots. Unfortunately the guide had a flat
tire so we had to return about 20 minutes early.
After the ride I had a couple of
cold beers, followed by some food and more drinks.
