Diving! Got up at 7.30, had a quick breakfast, forgot my fins (Inge phoned me on my mobile), picked up fins, and reported to the diving school at 8.15. The boat was quite large and left just before 9 with only 4 other divers. 3 of them were French and there was one German guy who had done only 14 dives. We decided to go to the south to dive in Shaab Saiman as the weather was perfect; no wind or waves at all. While we were sailing there we spotted some dolphins and we spent about 30 minutes going after them. Luckily I brought the video camera, so you can see them yourself in high, medium or low quality. When we got to Shaab Saiman we made a beautiful dive of 62 minutes and went between 15 and 24 meter deep. The visibility was great, around 35 meter. There are so many beautiful fish there, you could dive there for years and still see new things. We saw Stingrays, Morays, Lion fish, Puffer fish and many other. We sort of stayed all in a group while diving and came up together, which doesn’t happen very often after 62 minutes. The German guy had about 25 Bar left and I had about 50 bar left. After the dive they served a delicious lunch after which we took a nap. The second dive was at Ras Umm Hesiawa, just around the corner from the first dive. As there was a bit of current we just let the current take us down the reef and were picked up by the boat after about 50 minutes. Very nice dive as well, but not as good as the first one. When we got back to the hotel at around 4.30 I first got a couple of beers and then joined Inge at the beach. In the evening I beat Inge at scrabble. Did I mention it was a great day?
