A day of laying in the shade at the
beach, swimming a bit and reading. Life can be good!
The weather is just a little bit
warmer as is was is Holland, about 37 Celsius and no clouds as far as you
can see. Due to the low occupancy rate we got sun beds underneath a parasol,
right at the beach without any problem. I wouldn’t want to be here when the
hotel is full though.
Breakfast (at 10 am) was OK, but
just like the dinner yesterday, it has plenty of room for improvement.
Luckily the Arabic coffee is great. A lot better as the coffee in China. We
went to the sales talk of the Neckermann lady which lasted about 30 minutes.
She tried to sell us some more excursions, even to Cairo in one day…. When I
asked how long a drive that was she told us you would leave at 2 am and
return the next day at 2 am, having spend 18 hours in a bus… You must be
crazy to spoil your relaxing week at the beach like that.
We spent the rest of the day on the
beach well guarded against the sun by a nice parasol reading and
occasionally having a dip in the sea.
In the evening we sat outside again
at the Dockers Bar. We had to endure a whole evening of karaoke…. It was
horrible… Luckily the Gin Tonics were good (as was the Pina Colada). The
waiter, Achmed, made sure they where coming quickly (after we gave him 10
Egyptian Pounds) and taught us some Arabic. We played Scrabble for about 2
hours and Inge won with a big difference.
