After our cold experience yesterday we decided to have another lazy day at the beach. As the weather had cleared up we laid on the beach and read a bit.

After lunch (they have excellent club sandwiches) Veronica (a Canadian we met there) and I rented a moped and drove to the city. It’s about 10 miles, but as the road is in an awful state with many big holes it took us a lot longer as expected.

I wanted to see if the ATM was working as we didn’t have enough Thai Baht for our extended stay. But as happens often on these islands, it was not working. Not very worried (we still had most of our emergency US$ reserve intact) we drove on to a dive shop to enquire about diving. As they were full for the next few days we went on to another one. Stupid as I am I had left my PADI certification at home (no not in the Bungalows: home, Holland). That was no problem as they could check this via the Internet with PADI in Switzerland.

In the afternoon we suddenly stumbled upon Karen and Marisa who had somehow also found there way here. It’s a small world. After dinner we all sat on the platform at the bar and passed along “Buckets of Doom” The ingredients are: Mix 1 small bottle (0.3 litre) of Thai Whisky, 2 cans of Coke, 1 can of Red Bull and add plenty of Ice. Serve in a bucket with 10 straws. It’s quite good but the bucket tends to go around fast, so be careful… Have a look at the pictures.

The group we hang out with consisted of:
5 Kiwis
4 Irish
4 Germans
1 Canadian
