A nice relaxing do where we didn’t
do much apart from eat, drink and meet people.
The Miami Bungalow has a system
where they keep a small book at the reception in which they add everything
you order. You can check it whenever you want or you can tell them you want
to pay cash. So we did not have to carry much cash on us. As the owners were
Muslim the didn’t sell alcohol. The bar next to the restaurant was operated
by two guys who would spend 180 days a year in the bar and even slept there.
If you wanted a beer with your food in the restaurant the waitress would get
it for you at the bar.
What is amazing here is that, while
2 years ago there was not even electricity, now every 100 meter there is an
Internet Cafe. All boosting to have very fast satellite Internet Access, use
Pentium 4 Windows XP computers. Sounds good doesn't it? Unfortunately the
reality is that access is unbelievably slow. Checking hotmail takes about 5
minutes... When you start using the computer they start a stopwatch and
you'll pay per minute used. It's not very expensive, only 2-3 Baht per
minute.
As it rained a couple of times this
day we spend a lot of time in the bar drinking and reading.
We also booked a snorkelling trip for the next day.
In the evening Inge went back to
change for dinner and I met some people in the bar. We had dinner on the
beach with about 10 people and had a great time. Afterwards we had some more
drinks in the bar and I don’t even remember what time we went to sleep.
