Today we had breakfast in a the Starbucks across our hotel (I love their coffee). After that we took a Tuk-Tuk to Dusit Park. A Tuk-Tuk is a motorized rickshaw which is so named because of the sound of their engine. There we visited Vimanmek Teak Wood Mansion which used to be the palace of the King. It is completely made of wood, not one nail is used... To keep the place from deteriorating they recently install air conditioning, couldn't find out if that also was made of wood though... We took a guided tour to see the inside of the palace. After the tour we went to see a Thai Dance performed there twice a day. We slowly walked back through the park and at the exit took a Tuk-Tuk again to take us to the Chao Praya River Express. This is the easiest and cheapest way to travel through Bangkok. You van get on and off at 23 places and it only cost 8 Baht (25 Euro cents). With this boat, which only mores at each of the piers for a couple of seconds we drove (or is it sailed?) back to the Shangri-La Hotel for a High Tea. This hotel is beautifully laid out on the side of the Chao Praya river which runs through Bangkok. As we can't yet afford to stay in the hotels in this price bracket (donations are welcome), we visit them for a drink or a High Tea, which also can serve as a late lunch. The inside of the hotel is beautiful with 15 meter high windows which covered a complete wall. The view over the swimming pool and the river is stunning. After the High Tea we took the Skytrain back to Siam Square to visit our tailor where we had the first fitting of the clothes. Diner was at the Hard Rock Cafe, which is also in the Siam Square area.
